Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, a date of birth, or a case number typed into a search box on this site goes to the outside provider that runs that tool. The provider handles the query and returns the results. We do not capture or store what you typed on our end.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it. It stays with our team and is not passed to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The browser you are using, and its version
- The IP address your device was assigned
- Your operating system and device type
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The address of the site that referred you, when there is one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, which are small files your device stores, to see how visitors move through the site: which pages draw the most readers and where people leave. Analytics services help us total that traffic up. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some parts of the site may act differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
We use what we collect for a short list of purposes:
- Passing your search request to the partner service that answers it
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Seeing which pages help readers and which ones need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Pope County warrant records are kept and how to check them: the Minnesota District Court, Pope County, where a judge issues the order; Court Administration, which keeps the case file; and the Sheriff's Office, which serves the warrant. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is assembled into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes here belong to outside companies. Anything you type into one is handled under that partner's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners decide how long they keep a query and who they share it with, and we have no control over either. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to court pages, sheriff's office sites, state court systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes you away from this site, and the privacy policy at the other end takes over from there. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of information may reach:
- Search partners that process a query you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices to protect the data we collect. No system connected to the internet is immune to trouble, though. We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, Minnesota privacy and consumer-protection law may give you extra rights over your data. The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, governs records held by state and local government agencies rather than a private site like this one, and it is the law that applies when you ask the county or the court for warrant records about yourself. For data you send to us, you can at a minimum:
- Ask to see a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy in the future. When we do, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back here to see how we handle visitor information.
