Where a warrant question goes depends on what you need to know. A status question belongs with the court that issued the order. A serving or safety question belongs with the Sheriff's Office. Practical questions about a court date, a fine, or a case file belong with Court Administration at the courthouse in Glenwood. This page lists those offices and the best reason to call each one. Nothing here is an official warrant check. We are a private reference site, so we route you to the office that can actually answer. Start with the list below. One call usually settles it.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm that a warrant exists, recall or clear one, take a payment, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office directly. Use 911 for anything urgent.

Most warrant questions in Pope County land with one of two offices, and a few go to a third. Match your situation to the list, then use the contact details below it.

  • Whether a warrant is outstanding: Court Administration can check the case file for an active warrant event, and the Sheriff's Office can answer a law-enforcement or safety question about service
  • A bench warrant from a missed court date: the Minnesota District Court, Pope County, issued it, so the court file is the place to confirm it and ask about a new date
  • A traffic citation or unpaid fine: pay through the state court payment system, then confirm with Court Administration that the case status changed, because a payment and a warrant recall are not the same event
  • Resolving an outstanding warrant: talk to a licensed Minnesota attorney and the issuing court about a court date, a motion to recall, or bail, and call the Sheriff's Office before attempting to turn yourself in, because this county has no jail to walk into
  • An active case file or a hearing date: Court Administration keeps the record, and the public case system shows part of it

The county courthouse holds both offices. Court Administration sits on the third floor at 130 E. Minnesota Avenue, Glenwood, MN 56334 and takes calls at (320) 424-7170, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fax number is (320) 634-5527. Court Administrator Rachel Schmidt heads that office. The county has no separate city or municipal criminal court, so a city ordinance case and a criminal case both route through the district court here.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office is in the same courthouse at 130 E. Minnesota Avenue, Glenwood, MN 56334, reachable at (320) 634-5411 during regular hours, with the county main line at (320) 634-7700 and a fax at (320) 634-5457. Dispatch answers every day, at all hours. The Sheriff serves warrants that come out of the court, along with civil process and special court orders. The office does not publish a public warrant list, so a phone call or a written request is the way to ask.

Case records also sit in Minnesota Court Records Online, the public remote system. It is useful for finding a case number or a filing date, but it is not the official record and it does not return every pending case through a name search. Confirm anything you find there with Court Administration.
